Alabama Forestry Awards

Last Friday the Alabama Natural Resource Council held the Symposium and Awards Banquet in Prattville. There were some very good speakers and presentations given by various presenters.

Our guest speaker was Lt. Governor Kaye Ivy.  She is a forest landowner from South Alabama and gave a good talk about being one of us.

Our local Forestry Planning Committee, Clay County, was chosen as the Outstanding Committee for North Alabama.  The committee meets monthly and is used as an educational tool to promote forestry in our county.  We received a $1000 award to help us better promote stewardship forestry in our county.
